About Me

My name is Emma Collins and I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Textile Surface Design in May 2012. My website is a sneak peek into my passion. My favorite forms of expression are painting with gouache and screen printing. I also enjoy color work as well as weaving. Some of the images on this site are from my senior thesis project, which was displayed on campus for visitors and people in the industry to come and view. The rest of the work are designs I have done in my career as a Textile Surface Designer.

As a designer I get my inspiration from everything around me. Through my love of travel I find inspiration to create different patterns and designs from nature, architecture, people, and different cultures. Art allows me to express myself and to create a variety of textile and surface designs.

Objective:

To obtain a full time position in the textile or surface design industry for further professional and personal development.
